About us

Opening doors for girls in technology and medicine

We give girls and young women the knowledge, mentorship, and opportunities to become the next generation of leaders and innovators.

Our story

Why we started AI²ER

AI²ER Foundation was founded by Dr. Humie Woo and Dr. James Woo, two parents who understand firsthand how exposure, encouragement, and mentorship can shape a young person’s future.

Dr. Humie Woo grew up in a family of engineers and computer scientists and knew from an early age that she wanted to become an engineer. Dr. James Woo, raised in a family with many doctors, always knew he wanted to become a physician. Careers in engineering, technology, and medicine were visible and accessible to them. Not every young person has those same advantages.

For many young girls, pursuing careers in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, engineering, technology, and medicine can feel intimidating or even out of reach when there are few role models, mentors, or opportunities to explore them. That is why we created AI²ER Foundation: so every girl has the opportunity to explore these fields, learn from professionals, build confidence, and discover her own potential.
